Robert Hughes is a Ph.D. student at the University of Kansas, with research interests in national development and democratization, political attitudes and ideology, comparative-historical methodologies, macro theory, quantitative methods, and the application of mixed methods. After receiving his B.A. from New Mexico State University in 2006, he earned a Master's Degree from the University of Kansas in 2008. Hughes is currently conducting research concerning beliefs about equality and their influence on political action in the United States. While completing work in his specialty areas of historical and political sociology, he is also developing a comparative-historical dissertation project on the development and democratization of Eastern Europe and the ex-Soviet States.
