Emily Kennedy is a grad student at the University of Kansas with research interests in gender studies, care work, sex work, technology, and the interplay between the self and society. She is currently conducting research on women’s expressions of self and experiences of community through fashion blogging. She values the importance of multi-layered methods and interdisciplinary approaches in sociological research. Her B.A. is in English from California State University at Fresno, and she lived in San Francisco, CA for five years before moving to Lawrence in 2004. She is the Sr. Administrative Assistant at the KU Institute for Policy & Social Research.
