Lori Wiebold

PhD Program
Email

Lori Wiebold earned her BA and MA in sociology at the University of Northern Iowa prior to entering the PhD program here at the University of Kansas. She is currently in the midst of her dissertation (when she is not otherwise trying to convince students that watching CSPAN is hip or threatening others to a game of scrabble). Lori serves as a member of the steering committee for the Carework Network and on several committees for the Midwest Sociological Society. She has taught several undergraduate courses here at KU as well as worked on various research teams. Her scholarly interests include: sociological theory, political sociology, carework, gender, inequalities, comparative social policies and globalism to name a few. She often jokes the whole PhD gig is really a cover for her to find anyway to travel and "study" new places and cultures (such as Lincoln, NE; Helsinki, Finland; Tybee Island, GA; Morganville, NJ; and Des Moines, IA).
