Professor LaPierre (PhD Duke) holds a joint appointment in Sociology and the Gerontology Center. Her dissertation, Marital Status, Household Composition, and Health Disparities over the Life Course, is a study of age, gender, family, and health. Areas: Quantitative Methods, Gerontology, the Life Course, Sociology of Death and Dying.
