Professor Najafizadeh (PhD Kansas) teaches courses including Comparative Societies, Global Social Change, Gender in the Global Context, and Sociological Theory. Her research interests focus on social change in the Third World and in Eurasia, with particular attention to gender, culture, and socio-political change. Her most recent publications are in Gender & Society and in The Journal of Third World Studies. Areas: Gender, Social Change and Social Movements, Social Inequality, and Comparative-Historical.
